Because yes, I did all of what I explained before with just wood, like one of those stupid elves. When you need to trade anything, activate the depot and use the regular stocks screen z to search, filter, and find your trade items. ![]() Create a garbage dump zone on top of the trade depot. Skulls can end up in a refuse stockpile or could be dumped to a garbage dump activity. Totems cannot be built as permanent structures, but careful management of custom stockpiles will allow the player to place totems at artistically pleasing locations around the fortress. Works best with a good bookkeeper, since you want to use the stocks screen. Totems are made from skulls by a bone carver at a craftsdwarfs workshop. A dwarf with refuse-hauling will come by, and take the stone to the garbage dump. Please note that the location doesn't have aquifers, it's really just damp stone all over the place on many layers!Īll I want is to reach the bedrock. Requires absolutely nothing in terms of materials, unless you count dwarf labor. My last attempt was to surround the staircase with walls, but the problem remains: I have to drain the water before building and my dwarves don't seem to take my suggestion about using buckets… Stubborn dwarves! I'm afraid I'll run out of dwarves if I use two pump stacks. I am digging a moat around my fort, so i designated a new refuse stockpile so i can dig the moat, and removed the old one, but now, the refuse is staying where it is, i tried dumping it to a dump zone, but it does nothing (I made sure that the items were designated to be dumped) dwarf-fortress. ![]() As I build the stack from the top down, I can't channel under my pumps to transmit power to the lower pumps, therefore all my pumps are manually operated. I then tried to build a pump stack next to the staircase, which works for. I tried the 'yeah, whatever' method and simply dug down, but my staircase slowly fills with water. When I dig 2-3 layers down, the ground starts to be damp, even at the farthest point from the river and even in winter. 1 Trix 11:20am Originally posted by MadAsgardian: If you place empty coffins and unassigned tomb zones (one for each), your dwarves will automatically bury corpses (if they can be reached, of course). I then tried to build a pump stack next to the staircase, which works for a time, but after 3 levels, it fills faster than it pumps. I embarked to a place with deep soil, nearby a river. ![]() I tried the "yeah, whatever" method and simply dug down, but my staircase slowly fills with water. The atom smasher can be operated manually, or automated with a repeater. When I dig 2-3 layers down, the ground starts to be damp, even at the farthest point from the river and even in winter. Initial designs are often manual (using a garbage dump zone and the dump command), however when combined with a quantum stockpile, your dwarves will automatically dump their garbage into a pit for easy disposal.
